Sony Mobile announced the Xperia L3 (I3312, I4312, I4332) earlier this week at MWC, as its latest entrant into Sony’s budget line-up. The Xperia L3 has a lot going for it, given the money, including dual rear cameras, a 5.7-inch 18:9 display and a 3300mAh battery.

Design-wise, the Xperia L3 does not adopt the super-tall skinny 21:9 aspect ratio of the Xperia 1 and 10 series. Instead it uses a similar 2:1 aspect ratio as seen in its 2018 smartphones. The Xperia L3 uses a 5.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 also features for durability.

A dual camera is found on the rear with a 13MP and 2MP combination. This means that you can use the Xperia L3 for bokeh portraits, although no optical zoom is supported. Low-light photography is featured with ISO support to 3,200.

The 13MP rear camera has a 1/3.0-inch sensor (1.12μm pixel pitch) with F2.2 wide-angle (80 degree) lens. The additional 2MP rear camera has a 1/5.0-inch sensor (1.75μm pixel pitch) with F2.4 wide-angle (82.4 degree) lens. Front selfie camera duties are taken care of by an 8MP 1/4.0-inch sensor (1.12μm pixel pitch) with F2.0 wide-angle (84-degree) lens.

The Xperia L3 is powered by a Mediatek Helio P22 MT6762 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB eMMC internal storage (a microSD memory card is also supported). Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C and FM Radio. USB Power Delivery fast charging is also supported.

The Xperia L3 has dimensions of 154 x 72 x 8.9mm, and weighs 156 grams. The handset comes in three colours: Silver, Black and Gold. The Xperia L3 is launching with Android Oreo and is already available in Europe, where it is sold by the official Sony Store for £169/€199.
